(Hons) Top Up Degree
The BSc in Information Technology is delivered in collaboration with UWE Bristol and will prepare you for
your next steps in a career in computing and IT. You will develop up-to-date computing skills and
knowledge that are relevant to industry employment and development.
The need for creative IT graduates is ever growing and this course
provides a broad range of skills within education, health and business,
relating to the challenges that modern business and society face
today.
Gain the skills necessary to collate information, define, design and
build or select the most appropriate IT solutions, and develop a
deeper understanding of how those solutions apply to professional
contexts.
Modules include:

• Ethical and Professional Issues in Computing and Digital Media
• Security Management in Practice
• Mobile Applications
• Forensics Computing in Practice
• Security Data Analytics and Visualisation
Modules are usually assessed with a combination of exams and
coursework. The coursework can vary from practical programming to
written reports. Individual projects are usually assessed through the
project report and an oral examination.
Our industry-standard facilities will help you develop practical skills
and bring ideas to life. Create and test software in Windows, Linux
and Unix operating systems on our dedicated servers. Collaborate
with classmates by developing strategies and presentations in our
well-equipped studios, designed to reflect a real-world development
environment.
A mix of traditional and creative learning environments will enable
you to learn essential knowledge and real-world skills, standing you in
good stead for your professional career.
Entry Requirements
Applicants are required to have a HND or Foundation Degree in
Computer Studies, Information Systems or Information Technology (or
similar), with an average of two thirds Merits in Final year.
