Performing Arts
HNC/HND
This course is suited to performing arts and technical arts students. It encompasses a wide range of performing
arts skills from acting to backstage.
Thia course aims to be fast moving and offer a curriculum that reflects
the professional world. It gives students an opportunity to work as
part of a theatre company on stage as well as backstage. You will
also have the opportunity to see live theatre and possibly be given the
chance to work with other courses in the arts and media area. There
are excellent facilities, including a large theatre space, dance studio,
rehearsal spaces, recording studio and practice rooms.

This programme is designed to be a two-year Higher National
Diploma Level 5 course, which is the equivalent of the first two years
of a degree programme. On completion of the first year (at Higher
National Certificate Level 4) accreditation can be claimed. Possible
first year units include: Acting 1; Devising; Movement; Vocal Repertoire;
Hair and Make-Up Design; Crewing; Acting for Camera; Professional
Development, and Performing Arts Industry (Pearson set project).
Gloucestershire College is one of only 20 colleges in the country

Cultural. This status enhances our students' opportunities to develop
employability skills and links within the industry.
Entry Requirements
Entry to Year 1 (HNC) requires a minimum tariff of 48 UCAS points.
Direct entry onto Year 2 (HND) requires a Higher National Certificate
PASS (120 Credits) in a comparable and relevant subject.
Gloucestershire College welcome other/combinations of equivalent
and relevant qualifications that meet the typical course entry
requirements.
Applicants who do not have recognised qualifications may still meet
course entry requirements through alternative methods of assessment
at the College's discretion.

theatre stage manager.
