Manager Apprenticeship Level 5
This qualification is for project managers, recently-appointed department heads and aspiring middle
managers. It will enable you to improve your performance towards middle management, but also to
develop your skills and experience in preparation for more senior management roles and responsibilities.
It supports those inputting to strategic planning, creating and delivering operational
plans, managing projects, leading and managing
teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent
management, supporting people through coaching and mentoring.
The apprenticeship will cover the following core areas:
• Project management
• Finance
• Leading people
• Communication
• Self-awareness
• Decision-making
• Taking responsibility
• Professionalism
Through the Chartered Institute of Management, the End Point
Assessment will test the entire Standard, and is based on: assessment
of knowledge through a test using scenarios, questions and responses;
assessment of competency through competency based interview;
assessment of portfolio of evidence; a Continuing Professional
Development log reviewed, and a professional discussion and
question and answer session.
Entry Requirements
GCSEs in English and maths grade 9 - 4 or A*- C s.
Career Paths
Business adviser, business analyst, business development manager,
corporate investment banker, data analyst, data scientist, forensic
accountant, insurance underwriter, management consultant, project
manager, risk manager.
On completion, apprentices can register as full members with the
Chartered management institute and/or the Institute of leadership
and management, and those with 3 years' of management experience
can apply for Chartered manager status through the CMI.
