Introduction: There's More Than One Path To Success
First
Steps
Subject
Qualifications T Levels
If you don't quite get the
qualifications you wanted
at school, you can get
an excellent introduction
to further education
and the world of work,
whilst developing your
confidence, English and
maths, before moving on to
the next level of study and
focusing on one subject.
Find out more on page 44.
Apprenticeships
Ranging from diplomas
to certificates and
BTECs, these nationally
recognised qualifications
are equivalent to GCSEs
or A Levels and allow
you to focus on studying
one subject. You'll get
theoretical and hands-on
training, as well as work
experience that's highly
valued by universities and
employers.
A new alternative to
A Levels, T Levels are
created in partnership with
employers and involve 80%
classroom-based study
with 20% work placement.
You can focus on studying
one subject but build up
that all-important work
experience, alongside
industry-specific skills and
knowledge. Find out more
on page 16.
If you know what career you want,
and are ready to enter the world of
work, apprenticeships are a way to
earn while you learn. You'll develop
on the job as well as in college, and
can even achieve a degree without
the hefty student debt! Find out more
on page 24.
